Free Idea # 298 - One key for open and lock anything

Make life simpler by giving every living person just one key
that would open and lock anything and everything they owned.
The 'One Key' would open their house front door, their car,
their garage, their garden shed, their bike lock, etc. Imagine
how good it would be to only ever need to carry one key.

Free Idea # 297 - Indicator for check quality of milk

Coat the inside of milk bottles with a lining which changes
color depending on the condition of the milk. Green would
mean it is okay to drink but as the milk begins to sour the
green would turn through amber to red, warning the
potential drinker that the curdled milk is off.

Free Idea # 296 - Olfactory alarm clock

6Create an olfactory alarm clock that would wake sleepy people
by emitting a range of odors. Scent settings could include
pleasant fragrances (e.g. cinnamon buns, coffee, pancakes,
Chanel No. 5) and repugnant stenches (e.g. skunk musk,
rotting flesh, burning food, stinky feet). And - just for fun! -
the 'Wake Up And Smell The Coffee' clock would invite people
to input their own smells as well.

Design new cars and trucks with dashboard clocks that
automatically adjust the time displayed whenever daylight
savings information changes or a vehicle enters a new time
zone. In-car chronometers would be updated via data
streamed from GPS satellites, thus removing the temptation
for people to manually re-program their dashboard clock
whilst driving.

Free Idea # 294 - Baby's mattress that emulate parent breathing

Manufacture a baby's mattress that rises and falls gently to
emulate the breathing of a parent. So that the can baby easy
fall asleep themselve.

Free Idea # 293 - Floaty soap bar

Sell a range of soap bars that float so they don't get lost in the
bath. One obvious way of making floaty soap - other than
choosing ingredients that are less dense than water - is to
add air bubbles to each bar during the manufacturing process.

Free Idea # 292 - High quality 3D CCTV

Fight crime by obtaining high quality (even 3D) images of law
breakers by creating a computer program that tracks faces
across each frame of CCTV to produce a composite image
instead of a simple fuzzy freeze-frame snapshot.

Free Idea # 291 - Invent the shaving foam soap bar

Invent the shaving foam soap bar. After washing their face,
legs, or whatever!, users would simply use the suds still there
to shave, thus what was once two different processes is now
one. The shaving foam soap bar would mean aerosol-free
shaving, so - as well as saving time and money - it would be
good for the environment.

Free Idea # 290 - Invent an eco-friendly car powered by fingernails

Invent an eco-friendly car powered by fingernails instead of
fossil fuels. The vehicle would contain a keratin combustion
engine capable of harnessing the methane and hydrogen
found in hair, nails, claws, horns, feathers, and the dead
outer layers of skin cells.

Free Idea # 289 - Publish vintage maps using art mapping technology

Publish new vintage maps that show how an area looked in the
past yet which do so using state of the art mapping technology.
It would be possible to purchase a series of 'aerial photographs'
of a location as it might have looked one hundred years,
five hundred years, ten thousand years or even 250 million
years ago.

Free Idea # 288 - Rotary washing line with power generation

Manufacture a rotary washing line with an in-built two-fold
micro power generation system:

1) the central pole would extend upwards, providing the
vertical-axis for a 'wind flower' windmill;

2) the multiple splayed arms of the rotary washing line
would support super-efficient photovoltaic solar panels.

Free Idea # 287 - Invent biodegradable cigarette filters

Invent easily biodegradable cigarette filters. This innovation
would help prevent the unsightly accumulation of tossed butts
that litter front yards, streets, and sidewalks outside of bars.

Free Idea # 286 - Introduction CD for rental cars

Produce CDs that sit in the CD player of rental cars so that,
when a new driver gets in, the CD can tell them about the car,
the local area, driving laws, etc. It could also feature
advertising for local businesses.

Free Idea # 285 - Re-usable re-stickable Post-It notes

Invent small whiteboard style re-usable re-stickable Post-It
notes and sell them in packs of six to people who want to
reduce paper waste.

Free Idea # 284 - Car windshields with photochromic glass

Make all car windshields out of photochromic glass that darkens
to a moderate sunglass tint when exposed to sunlight. This
innovation would improve driver comfort and safety, especially
when traveling into the blinding glare of a rising or setting sun.

Free Idea # 283 - Business cards with online database

Print a unique ID on paper business cards that would direct
people to up-to-date information held on an online database.
Instead of printing new cards every time their details changed,
card owners would just need to revise their online entry.

Manufacture shower curtains with a detachable lower section.
Instead of replacing the whole curtain when the bottom
becomes discolored with rot, mildew, or mold, a horizontal
strip - representing, perhaps, just 10% of the total curtain -
would be removed and replaced. This would reduce waste
and save money.

Introduce a baked potato home delivery service called
Couch Potato' that would meet consumer demand for delicious
hot take out food whilst helping stem ever expanding waistlines
and rapidly decreasing bank balances.

Free Idea # 280 - 'Out of the country' SMS/text responses

Create automatic 'out of the country' SMS/text responses
that could be turned on whenever someone does not want
to receive costly texts from home while they are abroad.
Users could, of course, unlock some numbers to get through
if they so desired.

Free Idea # 279 - Online map applications

Create a feature on online map applications where users can
plan runs from any given point on the map. The user could
specify distance, traffic density, and gradient among other
preferences and the map software would plan the optimum route.
